The Opposite of Negative
I'm not dead or anything. Just so you all know.
What I am is tired. Ex-frickin'-hausted. I've been trying to tell myself all evening that I'm in the mood to edit these wedding photos, but nothing remotely artistic or creative is coming out of me right now, unless you count chili-induced fiery belches. While some of them have been impressive, they are more painful and disgusting than artistic and creative.
Things are happening. Good things. I am feeling happy and fulfilled but so god damn tired. I contacted the local chapter of FAWN (Farm Animal Welfare Network) about doing some writing for them. I submitted a story to Word Riot. I sent a short, 250-word piece to a friend’s new site. I bought a camera today - a professional camera that will hopefully further my prospects as an amateur photographer (and also set up a time to do some publicity shots for my friend’s production of “My Fair Lady” that is coming up in a couple of months). Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day and I plan on wearing a green necklace and then drinking beer after work. Clementine jumps into my arms (literally) as I’m getting ready every morning. Oliver sleeps at my feet. Sunshine sits on my lap as I eat breakfast. These are all good things.
There is more that is still a wee bit foggy that I will hold off on for now. But it’s good. Very, very good.
